Gone But Not Forgotten
16″ x 12″
Oil on Linen Panel

During Lockdown I spent a lot of time in this chair or with it – at least in the periphery of my vision and I often found myself thinking about my mother who passed away three years ago. Living alone in the stillness during Lockdown I would reflect on the difficult relationship that we had. The pause on normal life presented an opportunity or a space for me to consider things from her perspective – maybe had life continued as normal I never would have. She is gone but not forgotten.

This is one of a series paintings which will be showing in the Holt Festival Exhibition “Habitats”
