Through the Meadow

Through the Meadow
8″ x 10″
Oil on Linen Panel

This is typical of a view along one of my walks with Elgar my dog at a point where while he is scurrying off after a squirrel I stop for a breather and take in the view.

The composition here is obviously an ‘O’ or circular one. I am learning to simplify my subject matter and to look for large abstract shapes. In turn this is helping me to increase the amount of paint that I laying down which is very enjoyable. It will be interesting to see how these changes in my technique will reveal themselves when I next paint a still life.

I’ve put this one in a plain white frame.
